Wood, Raffia, Cowry shells
A carved wood mask of tapering oval form and with a pointed chin. The protruding mouth is open and has pursed, triangular lips. The forehead is slightly domed and there are narrow slit eyes under the forehead. The perimeter of the mask is pierced for the attachment of extensive raffia regalia used during dance ceremonies. Cowry shells are attached at the chin and top of the head.
