Thailand dolls are rarely used for playing, but instead reflect cultural mores of their spiritual belief systems where dolls have the power to protect or take on the spirits of people. This doll has a typical clown face, but also takes on the characteristics of the blackface minstrel. The doll has wild woolly hair, large red lips, dark skin, and white make up. This gives the appearance of big bulging eyes. Finally, the clothes are bright and mismatched in nature.
