This Porcelain Victorian period doll was created in the 1980’s. In the 1980’s there was a movement to create dolls that reflected the complex images of the African American community. This doll has a combination of features that may be found in a person from both the African and European Diasporas. The doll maintains the hair and clothing style that would have been found during the Victorian period of 1837-1901 but wears modern makeup. She is of a dark brown complexion, has dark red full lips, flowing black hair, and a medium body frame. She wears a blue dress, a blue velvet cape, and high black boots.
